Use of pesticides on cool- and warm-season athletic fields has faced increased scrutiny in recent years. On Wednesday, August 22 at 2:30 pm ET, Dr. Jim Brosnan from University of Tennessee will present “Know Your Audience: Strategies for Discussing Pest Management.”
Public pressure has increased in certain areas to the extent that many athletic field managers are prohibited from using pesticides altogether. Many feel comfortable discussing the merits of pesticide use to others within the industry but fail to confidently discuss this topic with the general public. This presentation will provide athletic field managers training on how to discuss pesticide use with those outside of the green industry.
