Long Island town to install surveillance cameras in parks

 

According to an article by Vera Chinese in Newsday, Southampton Town (NY) will install surveillance cameras in several of its parks and downtown areas to improve public safety, the town supervisor said. The town police department will have access to the recordings, although the town does not have the manpower to monitor the 40 or so cameras in real time. The new equipment was requested by the parks department as well as the town police. Read the details here.
