Diamond Pro would like to welcome Craig Sampsell to its corporate family. Craig comes to Diamond Pro from the minor league baseball arena, where most recently he was the Head Groundskeeper for the Albuquerque Isotopes.
Craig began his career helping his father build, maintain and renovate baseball and softball fields in the Indianapolis, Indiana area. He then worked at the Carmel Dad’s Club maintaining over 150 acres of sports fields throughout Carmel, Indiana. In 2010, Craig and his wife decided to move to Louisville, Kentucky, to continue his sports turf career with the AAA Louisville Bats. Since then, he has worked for an NCAA Division One University and has spent three seasons as Head Groundskeeper in Minor League Baseball. In 2017, Craig and his Albuquerque Isotopes Grounds Crew won the Pacific Coast League’s (AAA) prestigious Presidential Commendation Award.
A native of Indianapolis, Craig is a graduate of the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Administration, and he has an Athletic Field Management Certificate from Ohio State University.
Craig is a national member of STMA. He has also been a speaker in the KYSTMA chapter and has been actively involved in several local chapters during his career. Craig and his wife will be relocating to the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and will be based in the Diamond Pro home office in Arlington.
