Crowdfunding campaign raises enough money for soccer field

The Lansing (MI) community will get to play soccer at Beacon Soccer Field once construction is finished.

It’s all thanks to donations brought in from a crowdfunding campaign that began on April 24, 2015.

The goal was to raise $60,000 before May 22, with an all or nothing campaign.

On May 20, the total reached $60,000 and as of Wednesday night, the total was at $61,662.

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation said they will provide a $60,000 grant if the goal was reached before May 22.

The park is to be located at Ferris Park, two blocks north of the State Capitol. It will feature a synthetic turf field, solar lighting and kick boards around the field.
