Parks and Recreation officials have hired a new staff member to manage and maintain Murfreesboro (TN) playing fields while Mayor Shane McFarland apologized to parents for their condition last year. Shane Lamb was chosen as the city’s turf grass manager who will manage all the conditions of all city-owned athletic fields. The manager’s background and education in soil science and athletic facilities made him the experienced hire city leaders wanted in the newly created position, McFarland said.
