Bayer CropScience announces Max McGee as area sales manager

Environmental Science, a division of Bayer CropScience LP, announced Max McGee as Southwest Florida area sales manager for the turf and ornamentals (T&O) business in North America. McGee is responsible for fostering relationships and initiating buyer opportunities among distributors and end-users.

“We are excited about the diverse industry knowledge Max brings to support our customers, and we are pleased to welcome him to our Bayer team,” said Jose Milan, head of the Bayer T&O business. “We know his impressive skill set will help us to enhance partnerships with turf managers and superintendents, and provide them with the solutions they need to be successful.”

McGee has strong agronomic experience encompassing all aspects of golf course operations. In his most recent position as assistant superintendent at the Hideout Golf Club in Naples, Fla., he was responsible for managing a private, 18-hole championship course, which hosted the local section PGA Stroke Play Championship. Prior to this role, McGee worked at Grey Oaks Country Club in Naples, Fla., where he previously completed an internship, and at Desert Mountain Golf Community in Scottsdale, Ariz.

“It is an honor to be selected as Bayer’s newest area sales manager,” McGee said. “I look forward to bringing my turfgrass expertise to this role to help golf course professionals advance their business goals and objectives and solve key challenges that they may be facing.”

McGee holds a Bachelor of Science in Turfgrass Management from North Carolina State University, where he graduated with honors. Additionally, he is a Dale Carnegie graduate and received his Florida T&O applicator’s license. Last year, McGee received certification in Best Management Practices for the enhancement of water quality on Florida golf courses and for the Florida green industry. Max is also a Bayer Green Start Academy 2012 graduate.
