When Ball State University’s Scheumann Stadium underwent a $13.6 million renovation in 2007, it was reported that the expected life span of the football venue’s new artificial turf was 10 years. Less than 8 years later, the university opened bids to replace the turf, the warranty on which doesn’t expire until June of this year.
