John Haguewood named technical manager for Macro-Sorb Technologies

John Haguewood was recently named Technical Manager for Macro-Sorb Technologies LLC, the leading provider of professional-grade amino acid products for the turf management industry, and SMS Additive Solutions LLC, a New Jersey-based company offering a wide variety of soil surfactants, spray adjuvants, and tank-mix additives.

Haguewood will manage all technical activities for both companies, including coordinating university field trial work, product development trials and small plot research with golf course superintendents. In addition, Haguewood will provide technical support to product users, author technical reports and facilitate product training, both online and on-site at distributor locations.

Previously, Haguewood was a Research Specialist at the University of Missouri Turfgrass Research Center from 2012 – 2014. Testing of wetting agents was a major focus during his time at Missouri and he was recognized with a First Place award by the American Society of Agronomy (ASA) for his presentation on hydrophic soil and wetting agents in 2013.

“We are pleased to welcome John to both Macro-Sorb and SMS Additive Solutions,” said Michael Kubinec, vice president for both companies. “He will be a valuable technical resource for Macro-Sorb’s complete line of amino-acid based products for golf turf and agricultural uses, as well as the full SMS line of surfactants, wetting agents and additives.”

A native of Potosi, Missouri, Haguewood earned his master’s degree in turfgrass weed science in 2014 and his bachelor’s degree in turf management from the University of Missouri in 2010. He resides in Cleveland, Georgia with his wife, Nicole.
