Big yards make for big work and as people become more concerned with sustainability, how you cut your grass is just as important as how you grow it. To make mowing both more manageable and more earth-friendly Kubota Tractor Corporation is launching “The Kubota For Earth, For Life Contest” on Kubota’s Facebook page. One lucky winner will win a Kubota ZP330 eco-friendly, zero-turn, liquid propane gas (LPG) mower. Now through June 20, 2014, participants must submit a 200-word essay and an original photo to Kubota that shows and tells how the way they take care of their yards, their homes, or their communities reflects the “For Earth, For Life” mission embodied by Kubota.

“Kubota’s global brand statement, ‘For Earth, For Life,’ is about focusing on technical excellence so that our customers can focus on planting, feeding, building and caring for our communities,” said Buck Trawick, Director of Marketing for Kubota. “This contest allows us to recognize our customers who positively affect life for their families and our communities through eco-conscious efforts big and small.”

The first 2,000 entries will automatically win a limited edition Facebook fan Kubota hat. One winner will be awarded the contest grand prize, the Kubota ZP330 zero-turn, propane-powered mower. With a liquid-cooled LPG engine, the ZP330 delivers eco-friendly performance with reduced CO2 emissions, compared to gasoline and diesel, while maintaining the same high levels of productivity. The engine’s clean-burning propane also eliminates carburetor maintenance and vapor lock problems along with the convenience of long-time storage without worry of fuel deterioration – providing optimal performance for years to come.

Propane is one of the cleanest burning of all fossil fuels, producing 30-90 percent less carbon monoxide and about 50 percent fewer toxins and other smog-producing emissions than gasoline engines. In addition to fewer emissions, propane delivers lower operating costs with proven performance. Propane is a safe and environmentally friendly fuel that is available now and widely used throughout the U.S. in homes, on farms, on the road, and in industrial and commercial operations. Nearly 97 percent of propane consumed in the U.S. is produced in North America. For more information on propane, visit www.propanecouncil.org.
