Spring has sprung and David Melevsky couldn't be happier. After a long, harsh winter, Melevsky, the president of Go Green Landscaping, an organic landscaping firm in Scarborough (ME), was back in action this week getting fields in Scarborough ready for spring sports. For the third spring in a row, an organic approach is being taken to treat the athletic fields, parks and school grounds in town. In September 2011, the town replaced its pesticide management program with an approach that restricts the use of synthetic pesticides in town parks, schools and other town-owned property.
