With US headquarters in Fresno, CA, Netafim, the world's largest irrigation company, recently received the international 2013 Stockholm Industry Water Award. The award recognized Netafim's efforts to mitigate world hunger through the efficient use of dripline irrigation in agricultural production.

Netafim receives Stockholm Industry Water Award

With U.S. headquarters in Fresno, CA, Netafim, the world’s largest irrigation company, recently received the international 2013 Stockholm Industry Water Award. The award recognized Netafim’s efforts to mitigate world hunger through the efficient use of dripline irrigation in agricultural production.


The commendation was presented to Netafim President and CEO Igal Aisenberg at a World Water Week ceremony in the Swedish capital. Peter Forssman, chairman, Stockholm International Water Institute Board, presented the commendation.


Netafim is the first irrigation manufacturer to receive the prestigious honor. Previous recipients have included PepsiCo, Nestlé and Procter & Gamble.


The 2013 Stockholm Industry Water Award honored Netafim’s innovative approaches to sustainable water management and the development of new products and technologies in agricultural irrigation that improve crop yields. Nearly 25 million acres (10 million hectares) of farmland worldwide are irrigated with Netafim dripline irrigationThe laureate was granted by the Stockholm International Water Institute in collaboration with the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.
