Call for STMA Board of Director nominations closes Aug. 30

If you have interest in running for a seat on the STMA Board, the nominations process is closing on Aug. 30. At that time, the Nominating Committee will begin to develop the slate of candidates to present to the membership. The elections will be held electronically in late November.


The open positions include: Director representing the Parks and Recreation sector; Director representing Academics; Director representing Higher Education; and the elected Director At-Large position. This directorship is not specific to a particular category of membership; thus any STMA voting member is eligible to be slated. To indicate your interest, please fill out this form.


Directors are expected to attend four board meetings a year, chair one or more committees, be the contact for their membership segment to bring issues and ideas to the board and actively participate in the annual conference and exhibition. Board member are also charged with the overall governance of STMA and in creating and adhering to the strategic plan of the association. Board meetings are held on weekends and typically run 1.5 days. The association pays for the cost of attending these meetings and the annual conference.
