Here's an idea that's probably overdue, considering how much time people spend on their cell phones, even on a golf course: Greenhorn Creek Resort near San Francisco, has become the first golf course in the US to provide solar-powered phone charging, using ultra-slim solar panels mounted on top of golf carts. There's a USB hub on the cart, which means no matter how much a golfer texts, surfs the Net or blabs on the phone during a round, he or she will never run out of juice.

Course puts cell phone charger in its carts: end of the world?
