More Information
The Center for Turfgrass Science at Rutgers University will host the Twenty-Second Annual Rutgers Turfgrass Symposium on Friday, January 11, 2013, at the Neilson Dining Hall on the Cook Campus. This year’s symposium is dedicated to Dr. C. Reed Funk who passed away in October 2012, and will focus on his far-reaching influence on turfgrass breeding in the United States and abroad over the past 50 years. Oral presentations will run from 9:00 AM to 3:45 PM., followed by a cocktail reception and dinner.
All principal investigators who are currently receiving Turf Center funding are expected to present either a poster or an oral talk (by invitation) of their research and provide an abstract of their presentation. Others conducting turf research are also encouraged to present a poster and submit an abstract. Posters will be displayed in the Neilson rectangular room all day Friday. A 4′ x 4′ display board will be provided for poster presentations. Abstracts are due by December 14, 2012 and will be published as a Rutgers Turfgrass Symposium Proceedings distributed at the meeting. Past Symposium proceedings are archived at www.turf.rutgers.edu.
For additional information, contact the Symposium editor Dr. Faith Belanger at 848-932-6389 (e-mail: belanger@aesop.rutgers.edu). We look forward to seeing you at this year’s event.

An Invitation to the North Eastern PA Turf Conference and Trade Show
The Northeastern Pennsylvania Turf Conference and Trade Show has been the premier turfgrass industry event in the Pocono region for decades. Penn State’s Turfgrass Program, The Cooperative Extension and the Pennsylvania Turfgrass Council are continuing this tradition and the 2013 show will be held on Thursday, January 31th at The Woodlands Inn & Resort, Wilkes-Barre, PA. http://www.thewoodlandsresort.com This event is administered by Penn State University and typically draws about 300 participants for the full day show. We believe we have a great educational program and you’ll get a chance to visit with the many vendors exhibiting there.
