“The first edition of the Owner’s Manual was launched two years ago and has been very well received by the industry,” says Claude Corcos, senior marketing manager for Toro’s Micro-Irrigation Business. “Farmers, dealers, consultants, government officials and academia have all enjoyed using the document, whether they were new to drip or seasoned veterans. It has become a must-have for every irrigator’s resource library.”
In addition to the metric translation of both documents, the Spanish version of the Owner’s Manual was meticulously rewritten in Spanish to reflect the appropriate language used in Spanish-speaking agricultural regions. “Direct translations of English documents into Spanish often lose the original intent of their meaning, especially in agriculture,” explains Product Manager Eduardo Mendías, author of the Spanish version of the Owner’s Manual. “We made sure the concept written in English was accurately and understandably conveyed in Spanish, which is not an easy undertaking. That’s why we say the Manual was rewritten in Spanish, not simply translated.”
