The Barrington (RI) Environmentally Safe Turf (BEST) Program will not be coming back to the Town Council with a Park and Recreation Commission endorsement. At its July 2 meeting, the commission called the BEST program “impractical” because of the limited amount of athletic fields in town and a lack of complaints. Commission members also said they were satisfied with the Barrington Department of Public Works’ current field maintenance program.
