STMA Annual Conference makes significant changes for 2013 in Daytona Beach

Each year, STMA surveys its conference attendees to find out what they would like to experience at the annual conference. Based on feedback from the 2012 conference, STMA is introducing five significant changes to its conference model.
1. More education earlier. STMA is offering its preconference education one day earlier – in 2013 it will be on Tues., Jan. 15, 1 – 5 p.m.
2. An earlier start to the official conference. Concurrent education will start on Wed., Jan. 16, at 8 a.m.
3. High Level “Academy” style education. On Tues., Jan. 15 and on Fri., Jan. 18, a high level education track will be offered, at no additional fee. These sessions will result in a certificate of completion. Look for these sessions to be repeated at an even higher level in future years. In 2013, a 200 series, in 2014, a 300 series, etc. – very similar to a college curriculum.
4. More General Sessions. STMA will be presenting two general sessions: one will be on Wed., Jan. 16 at 6:30 p.m. and roll right into the Welcome Reception. The second will be a closing session on Fri., Jan. 18 at 1:15 p.m.
5. Earlier closing of the Trade Show. STMA’s trade show will now open at 1:30 p.m. on Thurs., Jan. 17 and go until 7 p.m. There will be no competing education, except education on the trade show floor, during this time. The show hours on Fri., Jan. 18 will be from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., with lunch. Look for some very exciting activities on the show floor this day.
