Jacobsen hires municipal channel manager

In an effort to be more visible in the municipal market and develop customer relationships, Jacobsen recently hired Art Petrone as Municipal Channel Manager.

Petrone comes to Jacobsen with extensive municipal and professional turfgrass management experience.  He worked in government and municipal sales at Lakeland Equipment Corporation and Ontrac Equipment after being an assistant and superintendent at Monroe Golf Club in New York and Augusta National Golf Club.

Petrone will be responsible for marketing, sales, dealer development, product development and market research.

“We’ve never been more committed to the municipal market,” said Chris Vernon, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management. “We are hiring industry veterans like Art and reviewing our municipal product line-up to better support our municipal customers.”

Jacobsen provides state, county, city and village government entities with a wide range of commercial turf equipment used in a variety of municipal applications. The Jacobsen municipal product line-up features out-front rotary mowers, wide-area rotary mowers, flail mowers, fine-cut and trim mowers, aerators, sprayers and utility vehicles.

“Like everyone else, municipal fleet managers are looking to do more with less,” said David Withers, President of Jacobsen. “Jacobsen offers a full line of commercial turf equipment that provides superior productivity and quality that’s backed up by a dealer network of factory-trained technicians and support staff.”
