The Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA) is pleased to announce the Association has officially become a partner of Plant Management Network International (PMN). This partnership will allow STMA to offer PMN’s resources as a benefit at no additional charge to the association’s more than 2,800 members. STMA is proud to join the not-for-profit, online publishing effort in its mission is to enhance the health, management, and production of agricultural and horticultural crops.
PMN achieves its mission by developing science-based resources that help researchers, crop management professionals, consultants, growers, educators, and students make better plant management decisions and recommendations. STMA is very excited that its members will have access to PMN’s many turfgrass and turf-inclusive resources. These include Applied Turfgrass Science, Plant Disease Management Reports, Arthropod Management Tests, the PMN Image Database, PMN’s Plant Science Database and PMN’s Partner Extension Search.
STMA Academic Director Jeff Fowler sees PMN as an excellent tool for STMA members. “The quality of information available through PMN will serve to further fulfill STMA’s mission: to enhance members’ competence. This applied and peer-reviewed information will really help our members in the practical aspects of sports field management.”
Editor of Applied Turfgrass Science Dr. Jack Fry has similar thoughts on the partnership. “This relationship is a win-win for sports turf managers and turfgrass scientists. Applied Turfgrass Science publishes cutting-edge, peer-reviewed turfgrass research that is hands-on and readily applicable by the field manager. The relationship with STMA serves as a conduit for scientists, through Applied Turfgrass Science, to get their research in the hands of those that can put it to use immediately.
