New 5-year warranty on valves

Recent tests prove that Rain Bird’s PEB Series Valves outperform and outlast competing plastic irrigation valves under even the harshest conditions.* As a result, Rain Bird is now offering a five-year trade warranty on its PEB Series Valves.

“Specifiers, contractors and grounds managers need to feel confident that the irrigation valve they choose can withstand tough challenges out in the field,” said Erin Brotherton, Rain Bird’s product manager for commercial valves. “That’s why we conducted a series of tests on our PEB, PESB and PESB-R Series Valves. The results showed that these valves are the most durable plastic irrigation valves on the market today.”

PEB Series Valves are industrial-strength, glass-filled nylon globe valves ideal for commercial irrigation applications. PESB Valves have the same features as PEB Valves, but they also incorporate patented scrubber technology. Designed specifically for reclaimed water applications, chlorine-resistant PESB-R Valves actively prevent dirt, algae and other particles from blocking the valve’s pilot flow. Rain Bird compared these valves against their competition in four major tests:

Life Cycle Test:  In testing that replicates the worst possible temperature, pressure and flow conditions, the PEB Valve outlived its nearest competitor by over 35 percent.

Grit Tolerance Test:  All water contains some level of grit. In a cyclic grit test, the Rain Bird PEB Valve operated at four times the cycle life of its nearest competitor.

Chlorine Tolerance Test: Because reclaimed water contains high levels of chlorine, it’s important for commercial valves to tolerate this chemical. In a head-to-head test, the PESB-R Valve outlasted the closest competitor by a two-to-one margin.

Burst Pressure Test: PEB Valves have the toughest body and bonnet shell of all plastic irrigation valves. Results of this test proved that, with the PEB Valve being able to withstand over 130 psi more hydrostatic pressure than the nearest competitor.

“Rain Bird’s PEB Series Valves are not just durable and reliable,” Brotherton added. “They’re also the best value in their category, with extremely competitive pricing and a five-year trade warranty. Irrigation professionals can choose the PEB Series knowing that they’re getting performance and peace of mind at a price that fits their budgets.”
