The sensor insert mounts in a housing that controls the depth and alignment of the impeller, unlike insert type sensors that may be mis-aligned or set to the wrong depth.

New saddle-type flow sensor series

Enhanced low flow performance in 3 and 4 inch PVC pipe sizes from Creative Sensor Technology. The 3 inch sensor—Model FSI-S30-001 has an operating measurement range of 0.25/fps-12 fps, equivalent to approximately 6 gpm to 300 gpm in 3 inch SDR 21 (Class 200) PVC pipe. The 4 inch sensor- Model FSI-S40-001 operates over the same measurement range of 0.25/fps – 12 fps, equivalent to approximately 10 gpm to 480 gpm in 4 inch SDR 21 (Class 200) PVC pipe.

FSI flow sensors are designed specifically for irrigation measurement and control applications. The standard (001) two- wire flow sensor output is a digital square wave proportional to flow. The sensor signal is compatible with all manufacturers’ irrigation controllers that are equipped to receive flow inputs. The flow signal may be conducted by a shielded twisted pair cable up to 2,000 feet without amplification.

These saddle type sensors utilize the same flow sensor insert used in the tee type FSI Series sensors. The sensor insert mounts in a housing that controls the depth and alignment of the impeller, unlike insert type sensors that may be mis-aligned or set to the wrong depth. The housing is permanently attached to the PVC saddle therefore no additional mounting hardware is required. They are rated to operate at pressures up to 150 psi.

Features designed into the saddle type sensors include:

Lower flow measurement than competitive devices from unique mechanical design

Moisture resistant construction for underground installations

Simple installation – drill the pipe and mount the saddle- no need to measure, align or set depth

Easy to service — single large retaining nut holds the sensor insert in the housing.
