Fall weather hasn’t hit the Willamette Valley with its full force, but the students at Santiam Christian High are already reaping the benefits of their new synthetic grass surface at the football stadium.


High schools throughout the area have been making the switch in recent years.


The constant rain in Western Oregon soaks the grass fields and a few practices and games turn them into muddy quagmires.
