Summary: Plans, organizes, schedules sports turf maintenance and construction activities under the direction of the Associate Director of Facilities Management responsible for Grounds Services. Evaluates requests for sports turf maintenance and construction projects and recommends methods of action, costs, feasibility and priority. Coordinates the use of Grounds Services personnel, equipment and materials to ensure efficient and effective sports turf maintenance and construction. The Sports Turf Maintenance Project Manager will coordinate work activities of Grounds Services Crew Chiefs, outside contractors and/or other support services, to complete repairs and modifications to existing landscapes or construction of new landscapes.

* Reviews construction plans and specifications for compliance with appropriate design standard specifications, project requirements, existing codes and maintenance standards. * Attends or conducts pre-construction meetings. * Manages assigned construction projects, coordinates with appropriate landscape building codes and project requirements as they relate to athletic fields. * Inspects job sites to ensure code compliance, material specification compliance, quality craftsmanship and adherence to University standards, policies and procedures. * Establishes and ensures adherence to job schedules, priorities and budgets. * Consults and makes recommendations for contract change orders. * Supervises two or more full-time employees, or their equivalent, on a regular basis. * Makes recommendations regarding hiring, evaluation, promotion and termination of employees. * Manages, schedules and inspects all campus and athletic turf maintenance. * Provides customer service representation and liaison with Intercollegiate Athletic Department as it pertains to all athletic landscape and turf. * Ability to effectively communicate with team members among a diverse work group.
