In 2010, the Environmental Protection Agency granted Renown a federal registration for use on golf courses and other professional turf sites. Now, the California Department of Pesticide Regulation has provided its stamp of approval by granting a state registration for the fungicide’s use in California. Turf managers in California looking for systemic and contact control of many common diseases now have Renown® fungicide from Syngenta.
Renown combines proprietary azoxystrobin from Syngenta and finely-milled chlorothalonil. By combining these active ingredients found in Heritage® and Daconil® fungicides, it provides both systemic and contact modes of action. Its preventive and curative properties help control key plant diseases, including dollar spot, brown patch, gray leaf spot, algae, anthracnose and others.
“California golf course superintendents now have the opportunity to use this exclusive formulation of the leading strobilurin and the No. 1 contact fungicide available today,” said Stephanie Schwenke, golf market manager, Syngenta. “It covers the entire turfgrass structure, from roots to leaf tips, protecting interior cells from disease.”
