Wright Manufacturing initiates litigation to enforce lawn mower deck lift patents

Wright Manufacturing, Inc., a Frederick, Md.-based commercial lawn mower manufacturer, announced May 20 that it has filed a patent infringement complaint against The Toro Company (NYSE: TTC) and Exmark Manufacturing Company, Inc., in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.

Wright filed the complaint for infringement of two of Wright’s lawn mower deck lift patents (U.S. Patent No. 6,438,931 and U.S. Patent No. 6,935,093) and seeks damages, injunctive relief and other compensation. The complaint alleges the infringing mowers include Toro’s Grandstand and Exmark’s Vantage mowers.

Wright has a history of enforcing its patent rights. “Wright considers its patents and technology they protect to be among its most important assets,” explained Bill Wright, CEO for Wright Manufacturing, Inc.
