Jacobsen updates website, offers one-click access to information

Jacobsen has redesigned its website, offering a new look, improved navigation and one-click access to important information.

The new website encompasses information for Jacobsen and its sister company Ransomes Jacobsen, which manufactures and distributes turf maintenance equipment throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Looking at the rationale behind the redesign, Amanda Bostian, Jacobsen’s web design and communications specialist said,

“We wanted to provide visitors with an easy-to-use data centre where they can easily find the information they require with the least number of clicks.  Before embarking on the process we interviewed users and also looked at our site statistics; from this we noticed some interesting patterns.  Our website visitors consistently visit our site for product information, manuals and to find their local dealer.  So, we made those items easily accessible from our home page.”

Richard Comely, Ransomes Jacobsen’s director of product management and marketing added,
“It was important for us to take our global audience into consideration as we engineered the site.  There are Jacobsen and Ransomes Jacobsen customers around the world looking for equipment outside of what we manufacture for golf facilities.  We have distribution outlets for a wide range of products including E-Z-GO, Cushman, Ryan, Smithco, Turfco and Iseki.  We made sure information for that equipment was as accessible as information for the brands we manufacture.”

More enhancements are coming for the newly redesigned site.

“We took a phased approach.  There are a lot of things we want to do from a website perspective to better serve our customers.  We are continuously improving the way we present information on the web and visitors will see this in the new design and in the developments to come,” Bostian said.
