After the success of the 2009 Baseball World Cup in Europe, Major League Baseball in conjunction with CEB, IBAF, FIBS and KNBSB will be presenting two European Field Maintenance Clinics this October, to help federations and clubs well as improve maintenance and operations.

European Field Maintenance Clinics will be led by Murray Cook

After the success of the 2009 Baseball World Cup in Europe, Major League Baseball in conjunction with CEB, IBAF, FIBS and KNBSB will be presenting two European Field Maintenance Clinics this October, to help federations and clubs well as improve maintenance and operations.


Taking place on 9th and 10th October at Centro di Preparazione Olimpica in Tirrenia, Italy, followed by 11th and 12th October at Neptunus Family Stadium in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, the two clinics will be led by Major League Baseball’s Field and Ballpark Consultant Murray Cook will comprise of hands-on field experience as well as classroom instruction, and topics covered will include:


·         A discussion of ballpark dimensions and standards with Murray Cook


·         Baseball field lighting standards and maintenance, presented by Rick Sneed of Musco Lighting


·         Infield maintenance, presented by Tom Burns of TXI Diamond Pro, former groundskeeper for the Texas Rangers


·         Mound and home plate maintenance with Murray Cook


·         Protecting your field with proper covers, tarps and padding, with Bob Curry of Covermaster
