The New Hampshire Fisher Cats announced that Head Turf Manager Shaun Meredith has been named the 2010 Eastern League Diamond Pro Turf Manager of the Year.

Meredith named Eastern League’s best in 2010

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, the Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, announced that Head Turf Manager Shaun Meredith has been named the 2010 Eastern League Diamond Pro Turf Manager of the Year. Meredith and his field crew were recognized at Merchantsauto.com Stadium before the Fisher Cats’ game August 22. It is the first time that Shaun has won this award, which is voted on by Eastern League field staff and umpires.


“The Fisher Cats are incredibly fortunate to have one of the best playing surfaces around and it’s due to the hard work and dedication of Shaun Meredith and his crew put into the field,” said Fisher Cats President/General Manager Rick Brenner.  “This is a much-deserved honor for Shaun, and we couldn’t be happier for him.”
 
Meredith has been the Head Turf Manager at Merchantsauto.com Stadium since 2009.  Shaun, originally from Pittsburgh, PA earned his degree in Turf Grass Science from Penn State University.  Shaun has worked previously for State College Spikes/Penn State Baseball as their Sports Turf Manager.
 
Shaun is joined on his staff by Nate Berube, Scott Strong, Nate Macllelan and Jon Peterson.
