S. Aaron McWhorter, owner and president of North Georgia Turf, Inc. and Sports Turf Company, Inc., has been appointed the Georgia State Licensing Board of Residential and General Contractors. He serves on the Georgia Board of Community Affairs as well as on the West Georgia Regional Water Council and the Carroll County Water Authority. He is past president of the Georgia Turfgrass Association and the Georgia Sod Producers Association, and he previously served on board of the American Sports Builders Association. Sports Turf Company is a current member of the American Subcontractors Association and American General Contractors Association. McWhorter earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the University of West Georgia. He and his wife, Linda, have three children.
