All 16 high schools in Cobb County could have synthetic turf athletic fields by this fall. Voters there guaranteed the funds; it’s just a matter of the county school board approving the switch from natural grass to synthetic fields. Cobb County, with a population of approximately 700,000 residents, is located northwest of the city of Atlanta and is part of the Atlanta Metropolitan region.
