Valent Professional Products announced that Tourney Fungicide has been registered by the Environmental Protection Agency for use by turf professionals in California.
One of the most active fungicides available, Tourney provides consistent control of a broad spectrum of turf diseases, including the so-called “Big 3”—anthracnose, brown patch and dollar spot. Featuring the active ingredient metconazole, Tourney promotes exceptional turf quality and has use rates 2 to 3 times lower than other DMI fungicides, resulting in less overall environmental load.
University research has shown that superintendents and lawn care operators (LCOs) may use Tourney effectively in a variety of disease control programs throughout such key pest seasons as early spring, summer and early fall.
“Tourney provides turf professionals with a strong tool for managing anthracnose, fairy ring and patch diseases on cool-season turf, an especially important consideration for a majority of California turf,” said Todd Mayhew, regional field development manager for Valent.
Tourney may be used for disease control in turfgrass on golf courses, lawns and landscape areas around residential, institutional, public, commercial and industrial buildings, parks, recreational areas, athletic fields and sod farms in California.
Tourney is now registered for use in all states except Alaska and New York.
