At the 2010 conference in Orlando, portions of a documentary film about the only two female head groundskeepers in Major League Baseball, will be shot for release later this year. Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend will feature Heather Nabozny of the Detroit Tigers and Nicole Sherry of the Baltimore Orioles. The film will explore the day-to-day aspects of the job and what a vital role the head groundskeeper plays.
Roadside Pictures, an independent film company, will be filming the documentary, and plans to showcase it at film festivals before it is picked up by a distributor or network. STMA is financially supporting the production.
