CES announces partnership with AstroTurf

Competitive Edge Sports (CES), the leader in sports performance training for professional and amateur athletes, announced today its strategic partnership with AstroTurf® to be the exclusive provider of turf for all CES facilities. CES recently completed the renovation to its 36,000-square-foot Atlanta facility, which included the installation of GameDay Grass™ 3 DX from AstroTurf®, the most advanced synthetic sports surfaces in the industry.

“CES is proud to be one of the first five locations to utilize AstroTurf®’s GameDay Grass 3 DX as part of our elite sports performance training facility,” stated Chip Smith, founder for CES. “AstroTurf®’s commitment to player performance and safety is a natural fit with our own dedication to provide the best training possible to improve player performance.”

GameDay Grass 3 DX utilizes a proprietary technology called RootZone™, a nylon thatch layer at the base of the system, coupled with a monofilament polyethylene long fiber, closely replicating natural grass. The density of the RootZone, providing stability, cushion and consistent
performance, means that less granulated infill is required, reducing the problems related to infill
migration and “fly-out.” The nylon-polyethylene hybrid construction also serves to increase
durability and overall system performance.

“We are very proud to have our state-of-the-art AstroTurf® system selected by Competitive Edge Sports,” said AstroTurf® President Bryan Peeples. “CES has trained some of the greatest athletes in the world from all different sports, and we are pleased to be apart of their continuing success.”
