Tobey Wagner, president of Sod Solutions in Mount Pleasant, SC was elected to a three-year term on the Board of Trustees of Turfgrass Producers International (TPI).
A graduate of Auburn University where he earned a BSME, Wagner went on to found Sod Solutions in 1993 to meet the needs of warm and cool season turfgrass producers, nurserymen, landscape professionals and their customers by developing, licensing and marketing improved turfgrass varieties.
Wagner has been a member of TPI since 1994 and has served on both the TPI Marketing Group and the TPI Membership Committee. He is also a member of Turfgrass Producers of Texas, Florida Sod Growers Cooperative, Georgia Turfgrass Association, and several other state and national associations. In 2006 he was the recipient of the Florida Sod Growers Co-op Award of Merit. The award is given annually to an individual who has made significant contributions to the Florida sod industry and to the Florida Sod Growers Cooperative.
Tobey and his wife Lee Ann have four children and live in Mount Pleasant where he is involved in numerous community and civic activities.
TPI has over 1,000 members in 45 countries comprised of turfgrass sod and seed producers, equipment manufacturers and suppliers, and various individuals involved in education and/or turf-related research.
