Minor League Baseball reopened historic Durham Athletic Park last week after more than $5 million in bond-funded renovations. The ballpark was used for filming “Bull Durham,” the 1988 movie starring Kevin Costner, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins. The hit movie made minor league baseball, and the Durham Bulls, so popular the historic park could no longer handle the crowds.
