Jacobsen supports US Youth Soccer tournament

When the Parks Department at Sioux Falls, S.D., contacted Jacobsen’s local dealer, Turf Werks, to help prepare 21 soccer fields for the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championship Series regional tournament, sales representative Eric Nielsen didn’t hesitate. Jacobsen is a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company.

With 212 teams representing 14 states from across the Midwest converging on the city’s Yankton Trails Park, it was imperative that the fields were in immaculate condition for the 3,500 boys and girls taking part in the tournament.

Eric Nielsen commented, “The Parks Department had initially prepared the fields at 3 inches using their fleet of Jacobsen HR-5111 mowers. They approached us to use our AR-522, because it can cut at 2.5 inches and is the ideal machine for top quality sports field preparation. We were happy to oblige and are delighted with the part we played in the success of the tournament.”

Fourteen teams from the Midwest, across the age groups U-14 through U-19, now advance to the National Championships Series which are being held in Lancaster, Mass., on July 21-26.

Larry Monaco, president of U.S. Youth Soccer said, “It was a tremendous event by host South Dakota State Soccer Association and congratulations to the 212 teams who advanced to represent their state and to those who will continue their quest to be named U.S. Youth Soccer National Champions.”
