Underground, wireless soil monitoring system

UgMO is an underground, wireless soil monitoring system that can change the way turf managers approach their work, says the manufacturer. UgMO brings data 24/7 on soil moisture, temperature and salinity directly to turf managers’ fingertips via wireless sensors and a highly intuitive software program. It removes completely the guesswork of when, where and how much to water, when and how much to fertilize, where to target disease prevention, etc. Turf performance is optimized and resource savings, especially water savings, are dramatic – upward of 25%.

UgMO has been field tested at some of the country’s premier golf clubs (and major tournament hosts), such as Merion Golf Club outside Philadelphia, Desert Mountain Golf Club in Arizona and Los Angeles Country Club.  Earlier this year, the company caught the attention of Gary Player, golf icon and an avid conservationist in his own right.  When Gary learned what UgMO can do for water conservation, he signed on as a partner in the company.

Installations are beginning now for other sports turf.  Just last week, UgMO was installed at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA, which features state-of-the-art stadiums and facilities for soccer, tennis, track & field, lacrosse, rugby, baseball, softball and more.
