DeHart Park in Maplewood (NJ) has been given a clean bill of health.
Environmental testing at the park done by the township has turned up no significant amounts of contaminants, township engineer Richard Calbi said.
State officials had called for a routine environmental study before they would release Green Acres funds that would help pay for a refurbishment at the roughly 50-year-old park, which had been an orchard, a farm and greenhouse before the township took ownership of the property in the 1950s
