A group of San Carlos (CA) residents has sued the city for approving the use of synthetic turf on one of its playing fields after eight years of debate.


The group, called Save San Carlos Parks, contends in the lawsuit filed this week in San Mateo County Superior Court that the city acted negligently in March when it authorized installation of synthetic turf on 3½ acres of Highlands Park.


City officials replied this week that they went above and beyond standard procedures in reviewing the project.
