Many of Hudson County’s athletic fields are on track to have new synthetic looks by July, thanks to efforts by local officials and the county, as well as financial assistance from the state.


The county’s $3.5 million renovation at James J. Braddock/North Hudson Park in North Bergen and a $2.5 million overhaul at Washington Park that straddles both Union City and Jersey City, as well as seven other municipal projects, received about $7 million in grants this month from New Jersey’s Green Acres Program.
