Arkansas’ move toward a synthetic surface at Reynolds Razorback Stadium appears to be a go, and the process could begin as early as next week, a source close to the university said last week.


“We’re still working to raise the private funds that the project would require, and we’re preparing to move quickly if we get the necessary funds,” said Kevin Trainor, the UA associate athletic director. “We’ve worked on securing a general contractor in anticipation of raising those funds.”


Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long has said the university needed to raise in the neighborhood of $1.1 million to install the synthetic surface, and Trainor said fund-raising efforts are nearing that total.
