An anonymous corporate donor has backed out of a plan to give $225,000 to Albemarle High School to help pay for a synthetic turf athletics field.


Each of the three county high schools has been raising money to install synthetic fields, which will cost about $600,000 each.
The donor might still give the money to Albemarle High later this year if the economy and housing market improves, said Deb Tyson, AHS athletics director.
