It’s one of those weekends that college athletic department staffs dread. Thirteen basketball games in 53 hours, 26 teams playing in Paul Gerry Fieldhouse, scores of fans coming and going and eating and leaving behind trash.


For AD Chris Depew and his small staff at Sullivan County Community College (NY), manpower is stretched thin. To run an event like this weekend’s Region CV tournament, Depew needs scorekeepers, officials, security, ticket takers, concessions staff, hospitality workers, and janitors.
