A meeting held by the Board of Education to get feedback on the two-week pilot lights program on the artificial turf field was short and civil on Tuesday.


The small group, possibly made smaller by the freezing rain, consisted of approximately 15 people, five of whom were neighbors.


After cautioning everyone to be civil to one another, Board of Education Chairman John Boulton invited the public to speak.


Neighbor Albertus Van Denbroek, who did not have specific feedback for the two-week pilot program, said that when the high school was first built, the concept was that it was to be a good neighbor in a residential neighborhood. He said as time has gone on, it has gotten worse in that department. He said that he and his family have been active in the athletic community, and still supported the high school, but didn’t think it was fair to have lights in a residential neighborhood.
