UW puts premium seating plans in motion

University of Wyoming Trustees this week will be asked to approve the first step in a plan to spend about $35 million on War Memorial Stadium and its adjacent parking lot during the next few years.
The largest segment of the plan will be construction of a premium seating structure and elevator behind the existing east grandstand, partially extending into the top of the grandstand. The project would create luxury suites and club seating for 480 spectators. According to figures provided to the Star-Tribune on Thursday by Richard Miller, UW’s vice president for governmental, community and legal affairs, that part of the project will cost at least $13.6 million, plus a significant portion of an estimated $5.4 million “design fees and construction/design contingency budget.”
