GIE+EXPO draws approximately 20,000 attendees

GIE+EXPO, Oct. 23-25, drew approximaely 7,000 lawn and landscape professionals and 7,000 dealers/retailers, show management announced. In addition to attendees, there were more than 625 manufacturers and suppliers present for the trade show, which was held in Louisville, Ky. last week.

According to show management, pre-registration was equal to 2007, and there were 170 new exhibitors covering nearly 30,000 square feet of brand new exhibit space.

The event, sponsored by the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute, Inc. (OPEI), Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) and Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) was reportedly the 14th largest trade show in 2007.

During a press conference during GIE+EXPO, PLANET President Jason Cupp extolled the values of the joint trade show (which just celebrated its second year). “We are so proud of our partnership,” said Cupp. “We have to band together and work together. It’s important for us to have a good dialogue, and there is power in that collaboration.”
