Belmont, MA—Belmont Second Soccer announced this week that it secured financing from Cambridge Trust Company to renovate the town field. The project started earlier this month and will require that the field be fenced off and closed until next spring.
After reviewing and interviewing four proposals to renovate town field, the Second Soccer Board selected Sports Turf Specialties of Plainville for the project. Sports Turf Specialties is owned and operated by Dennis Brolin. Brolin was the former head groundskeeper for Gillette Stadium. Sports Turf Specialties has also done work at Fenway Park, Gillette Stadium and Hadlock Field, home of the Portland Sea Dogs.
