Grass greener on both sides for South Dakota student

BROOKINGS, SD—Noah Diercks may not make the highlight reels on ESPN’s “Baseball Tonight,” but his presence on the field is no less important than the superstars that suit up every night in front of dozens of TV cameras and thousands of adoring fans.
The 21-year-old Brookings resident recently returned from a three-month internship as a groundskeeper for the Boston Red Sox. He temporarily gave up a comparatively simple life for the hustle and bustle of a major East Coast hub and some of the craziest baseball fans around.
