School district wrestling with whether to build a stadium or an elementary school

KELLER, TX — Right now, a new Keller school district varsity stadium is in and an elementary school is out.

But Keller school trustees could change all that. The seven-member board will decide this month whether to ask voters to approve a $167.9 million referendum during the Nov. 4 general election and what work should be done with the money.

The Citizens Bond Advisory Committee was split on its decision to include a new athletic stadium, which would be the district’s second, in the proposal. At the same time the group included just one of two proposed elementary schools to keep the bond amount under $200 million.
