Catevo Group wins 5 TOCA awards

RALEIGH, NC—The Catevo Group, an integrated communications, marketing and advertising agency based in Raleigh, N.C., was presented with a number of awards at the 2008 Turf and Ornamental Communicators Association’s (TOCA) annual conference.  Also at the conference, McGavock Edwards, vice president of marketing communications at Catevo, was elected to the TOCA Board of Directors.

TOCA is a professional organization comprised of green industry communicators, including trade publications’ staff, industry association leaders and public relations and advertising practitioners.  Each year, TOCA members are eligible to enter creative submissions in writing, photography and design contests that recognize members for outstanding communications within the industry.

During its involvement in TOCA for the past 15 years, Catevo has been honored with multiple awards in Green Industry communications, including five awards this year:

First Place award for the design of the John Deere interactive media kit prepared for the Green Industry Expo show, which featured a unique, compact takeaway CD for the media.

First Place award for writing for the Lawn Doctor website, which addressed home owners on a personal level, incorporating information about the company and its services as well as basic lawn and yard information.

First Place award for overall newsletter design for DeereScapes, an internal publication for employees of the John Deere Commercial & Consumer Equipment Division.

Catevo also was honored with merit awards (second place) for the design of a Lawn Doctor direct mail campaign and for writing for DeereScapes, John Deere C&CE Division’s employee magazine.

At the TOCA annual meeting, Catevo’s McGavock Edwards, APR, was elected to the TOCA Board of Directors.  She was also asked to lead a committee tasked with researching the need for professional communications standards in the Green Industry.

“We are proud to maintain an active role in the green industry, both as communicators and advocates,” said Ray Hornak, senior vice president of Catevo.  “We appreciate the recognition of our peers for these awards and our Green Industry clients for their continued confidence in our team.”
